We’ve done some articles on making SnapChat, Vine and Dubsmash compilations, but as there are so many video and photo apps out there, we thought it’d be a good idea to do one general explanation on how to make the best video compilations using the Together app. Here’s the steps you need to take:

1. Add the pictures and clips you want to use to Together. You can add any clip or photo stored on your mobile device. Select and upload them and they’ll be in your Together library.
2. Start a new movie and add the imported clips and pictures. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to delete the ones you don’t want to use in the movie after all later.
3. rearrange the pictures and clips any way you like. Watch your movie to see if it’s turning out the way you want to, if not, just rearrange again. A simple drag-and-drop system lets you rearrange and edit fast and easy.
4. Happy with the order of your clips? Now add some extra features. Titles, music, video effects, anything you want. You can easily add them to specific clips and again, if you don’t like how it’s turned out you can just remove the effects again in no time.
5. Compilation finished? Upload your movies, send it out through email or share it via social media.
Oh, and don’t forget, Together works with Cloud storage so don’t worry about your mobile device getting all clogged up with video compilations. Just save them in the cloud instead of on your device- and access your videos every time, from whatever phone, computer or tablet!

Make a hair or make-up tutorial video

24/01

makeup
If you’ve ever thought of making a beauty video but never dared to, let us help you out. There are lots of people making videos to show off hairstyles and make-up nowadays, and these videos are very popular. We can all use some help in doing our hair and make-up and if you’re someone who can show how to do stuff, then just use Together to make some great vlogs!

Of course by now you know that you can film, edit and rearrange your videos on the go with Together. You can add clips and pictures you’ve made with other apps and software and Together lets you add music and text, if needed. A feature that might come in handy when making a hair or make-up tutorial is the speed feature. You can speed up your clips so if, for instance, you’re doing a video on braiding you can show the start very detailed, then speed up the second part of the braiding just to get a quick view of how it goes on and then get back to normal speed again for finishing and fixating the braid.

Adding text to clips can also help you on make-up tutorials. Why not add the brand name and number of the lipstick you’re using – putting this kind of info at the bottom of the screen will help viewers to get a perfect overview of the products.

All videos can be easily uploaded to the internet or specific social media, which makes it easy to share your video online. Of course you’ll want as much people as possible to see your tutorial so make sure you upload it to the right canals. Don’t forget to name your vlog, especially when you’re planning on making a whole series of hair and make-up tutorials, you’ll need a name for your videos/channel. You could even add your own theme tune through Together as well (and if you’re lost for ideas, there is some great stock music in the app itself for you to use).

Have fun and don’t forget to let us know if you’re using Together to make your tutorials. We’d love to feature your work in a future blog or on our Facebook page!

New Together Clip Editing Features

17/01

Things can always get better. That’s why we try to update and improve our Together app all the time, and guess what? It’s update time! Here’s some info on the new and improved features. Make sure you update the app to use all of it – and if you’ve not got Together yet, this is definitely the moment to do so.

The first thing you will notice when using the updated app, is the “decoration” tab. This is a cool new feature to put some borders along your pictures and videos. You can give your video a filmreel-look, for instance, or even add a fun beach theme.

But there’s more. When you’re at the list of videos you will see the “fade in” and “fade out” button at the top and bottom. As soon as you’ve chosen your videos and are rearranging them to make them into one movie, the beginning and end of your film will have a neat fade in and fade out, making it look even more professional. If you don’t want the fade effect, or you’re looking for another transitional edit, just choose the clip and you’ll see that in edit mode you’ll be able to change the fade settings.

My own favourite new update is the “art” tab. Here you can change the appearance of single clips, and the effects are really something. There is “smooth toon”, “polka dot”, “vignette” and lots more – check out the short example below and you’ll see what I mean (top one is original, bottom smooth touch).

Some of the above mentioned features might not be available (or only partly) on the free version of Together. Why not try out the Premium version (there’s a trial available) to see all of the improvements and try them out?

How to make SnapChat video compilations

14/01

snapchat
So we told you how easy it was to make a Dubsmash and a Vine video compilation, using the Together app. But there’s more. What about Snapchat? Sure, we know that Snapchat was originally intended for pictures that were not saved, but be honest, don’t we all save our snapchats – and those of others? If you want to compile your own snapchat pics (yes, your own – using those of others may cause some serious issues and we don’t want you to get into trouble…), you can of course use Together too.

Add your best snapchats to the Together app in one go, and then decide which ones you want to use for your compilation. As you might already know form our other blogs, or from using the app, Together can be used as a sort of video pick ‘n mix; just add all of the videos and arrange and rearrange them in any other you fancy. Once you’re happy about your compilation, you can always add a title. Just choose the first picture in your compilation, go to “edit” and then decide what font and color you want to use.

Finished? Upload and share your video through Together, either via email or through social media. Or use the super handy Together cloud storage to not only store your video without using up space on your mobile device, but also to get your video featured on the Together website via a link you can manage yourself. Send friends the link and make your Snapchat last!

How to make a Vine Video compilation

08/01

vine
Some weeks ago, we told you how easy it was to make a Dubsmash video compilation, using the Together app. But there are more interesting and fun video apps to combine with Together. What about Vine? Vine is famous for its looping videos with a maximum length of 7 seconds. Some people use Vine to make great stop-motion animation videos as well. There are all sorts of wonderful videos on the Vine channel – if you have never used it, do try it out as it’s a great platform.

So, say you’re an avid Vine-user and you want to do something extra with your videos, why not try combining them? Again, this is easy using Together. You can add all of your Vine-movies to the Together app in one go, and then decide which ones you want to use for your compilation. Together can be used as a sort of video pick ‘n mix; just add all of the videos and arrange and rearrange them in any other order you fancy. Once you’re happy about your compilation, you can always add a title to the beginning of the compilation. Just choose the first video, go to “edit” and then decide what font and color you want to use to superimpose your text.

Finished? Upload and share your video through Together, either via email or through social media. Or use the super handy Together cloud storage to not only store your video without using up space on your mobile device, but also to get your video featured on the Together website via a link you can manage yourself. Just send friends the link and share your video as much as you want without the hassle of having to transfer big aounts of video data. Easy as that!

Clean sound in your videos without external microphone

A lot of mobile videos fail due to poor sound. Don’t let your videos fail because of that. Until now you needed an external microphone to fight this problem. The major drawbacks of using an external microphone are the necessity to carry on extra gear, increased setup time and additional costs.

But now there is a simpler way to tackle that kind of problem. Remove the noise from your videos with an easy to use background noise removal app called Denoise. With Twitter as one of the most popular communication tools, people often wonder how to send a video tweet. Well, that is fairly simple and it doesn’t matter whether you have an iPhone or Android. The Together app allows you to send a video from your phone as a tweet, so all you need to do is to shoot your video using the standard built-in video camera of your phone and then send it through Together. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you do this. We also have a video demo if you prefer watching the process instead of reading. Read more…
